Promises, Agata Kus’s exhibition at the State Gallery of Art in Sopot, transforms the gallery into a vivid, immersive environment inspired by the artist’s expressive visual language. Rich colours, layered textiles, and carefully composed sightlines create a spatial narrative that echoes the emotional intensity of the paintings while encouraging an intuitive journey through the exhibition.
The exhibition design is built around suspended fabric elements that divide the space into a sequence of soft, interconnected interiors. Rather than enclosing the works, the textiles frame views, introduce rhythm, and create a sense of intimacy, allowing visitors to discover new relationships between artworks as they move through the gallery. Colour becomes an architectural tool, extending the atmosphere of Kus’s paintings into the exhibition space.
Minimal display elements and a carefully balanced spatial composition allow the artworks to remain at the centre of the experience. The result is an exhibition where architecture, material, and colour work together to create an environment that is both visually distinctive and deeply connected to the artist’s practice.
