„Those who set off to sea on ships… Masters of Dutch maritime painting of the 17th and 18th centuries in Polish collections” is the first such extensive presentation of Dutch and Flemish baroque marinas in the history of Polish museums. In addition to the most valuable works from the National Maritime Museum’s own collections, the public can see paintings from, among others, the National Museum in Warsaw, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill, the National Museum in Poznań, the National Museum in Wrocław, the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów and the National Museum in Gdańsk. An exceptional complement to the exhibition are three outstanding works of Dutch maritime art brought especially for this occasion from the Rijksmuseum and Het Scheepvaartmuseum in Amsterdam.
