The sea gate of the Republic of Poland
The exhibition „Wisłoujście Fortress – the sea gate of the Republic of Poland” is the work of Biuro Kreacja, located in a hangar next to the historic fortress. The project is based on a circular plan, symbolizing both the architectural solution of the fortress and its chronology. Six sections of the exhibition take visitors through different eras, from the Middle Ages to the present day, showing the evolution and significance of the Wisłoujście Fortress in the history of Poland. The architecture of the exhibition subtly refers to the character of the fortress, combining modernity with the historical context.
A key element of the exhibition is its color scheme, inspired by the colors of Gdańsk buildings. Each exhibition module has a unique shade, referring to specific historical events. The variety of colors serves not only aesthetic purposes, but is also a narrative tool, leading visitors through the complicated history of the fortress. The colors on the floor facilitate navigation and refer to water – a key element in the history of the fortress.
The project pays special attention to accessibility for different groups of recipients. The exhibition offers numerous facilities for people with disabilities, including tactile elements and graphics adapted to general accessibility. Special interactive elements and an educational path with field games have been prepared for the youngest. Thanks to this, the exhibition is not only a source of knowledge, but also a place of inspiring fun, combining education with entertainment, available to every visitor.
