Green Hill Apartments: Inspired by Modernism and Nature
When we embarked on the design of the Green Hill apartments in Gdynia, we considered the lasting impact of the epidemic and the role of designers in shaping our surroundings. The looming crisis was evident, with our furniture partners reporting declines in orders and delivery issues. This inspired us to base the entire project on Polish products. By using local materials and shortening the delivery path, we managed deadlines more reliably and significantly reduced the project’s ecological footprint.
A Tribute to Modernism
The Green Hill apartments draw stylistic inspiration from the era of modernism, which has strong ties to Gdynia. Our goal was to create spaces that are bright and inviting, reminiscent of the sea and the relaxation of beach life. I have a deep appreciation for the Polish sea, with its almost white sand, slightly weathered wood structures, soft stone shapes, and the wide horizon. Our design aims to capture these subtle, serene feelings.
