„WAVES. The subjective history of Polish street art”
The exhibition is of a documentary nature. „There are no works of art, there are no works that were created specifically for this exhibition,” said Marcin Gołębiewski, who, together with his wife Małgorzata, is responsible for the concept and coordination of the exhibition. As he explained, the Polonized spelling of the English word street in the title of the exhibition emphasizes that it is „Polish street art” and „an attempt at a perverse and subjective perception of this phenomenon”.
The exhibition consists mainly of photos of works and texts by Mariusz „M-city” Waras, Adam „Ixi Color” Jastrzębski and Sławek „Zbiok” Czajkowski. Photos of a dozen or so other people involved in street art are also presented. There will only be a few exhibits acting as scenography. „Someone malicious could say that it is a +memory chamber+, but it is not a memory chamber, but a review of Polish street art from the last few decades,” explains Gołębiewski.
